ApplyMate is run by Vanshika Maurya, a solo founder based in Haryana, India (“we”, “us”). This page explains what personal data we collect when you use ApplyMate, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

How we use it

We use your data to run ApplyMate: to log you in, save your profile and shortlist, show your deadlines, and produce essay feedback. We also use it to send account emails (such as email confirmation), keep the service secure, fix problems and improve the product.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your essays to train AI models ourselves.

Who processes your data

We rely on trusted service providers to run ApplyMate:

Where your data is stored

Our providers may store or process data outside India. We choose established providers, but your data may be handled under the laws of other countries.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, shortlist and essays. Some copies may remain in backups or logs for a short time before they are removed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email us from the address on your account and we will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the relevant authority under Indian law.

Students under 18

ApplyMate is made for students applying to college, and many are under 18. If you are under 18, please use ApplyMate only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can email us to review or delete a child's data.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards: connections are encrypted, and access rules mean each student can see only their own profile, shortlist and essays. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Cookies and local storage

On the app pages, your browser stores a login session so you stay signed in. On the landing page, Microsoft Clarity may set cookies for analytics. You can clear or block these in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as applicable.
